This form should be completed by the Protected Area authority
in English in order to register as a “Candidate ECST Protected Area”
preferably the year before submitting the actual application.
This form also applies to all current Charter Protected Areas that want to renew their ECST Award. In this case, the registration should also happen one year previous to the year of submission.
Upon registration, the newcomer Protected Area will be entered into the ECST database of Protected Areas candidates on the Sustainable Tourism webpage and will be sent the current documents for the ECST application dossier.
Protected Areas renewing their ECST will remain on the webpage and receive the documents for the re-evaluation dossier.
Applications for ECST will only be accepted from Protected Areas that have prior registered as ECST candidates. ****IMPORTANT:

Protected Areas that join the ECST are required to be members of the EUROPARC Federation. Protected Areas that are not EUROPARC members will be requested to join the Federation upon submission of the membership registration form (
