Are you a practising artist living or working in Northumberland? Would you like to learn how to set up and deliver community-led arts projects?
As part of our Youth Music 'Real Voice' project, Helix Arts is providing a FREE practical training and mentoring programme for artists interested in initiating community art projects in Northumberland.
Make it Happen (MiH) is a Helix Arts initiative offering a flexible, participant-centred programme. It provides training and on-going support to encourage and enable artists to create their own project plan, and then deliver activities. The course is supported by experts in the field and previous course alumni.
The programme will run over 6 FREE weekly training and development sessions, taking place on Thursdays from 10am-1pm from 24 March 2022. The course will be delivered online.
Week One: Introduction to Participatory Arts and Project Drivers
Week Two: Aims & Objectives, Roles & Responsibilities
Week Three: Project tools, planning and ingredients
Week Four: Financial Management and Risk Management (plus Safeguarding)
Week Five: Artist Recruitment
Week Six: Monitoring & Evaluation
To be involved all you need is:
- to be an artist living or working in Northumberland
- to have begun to, or are thinking about, delivering participatory workshops within the communities of Northumberland
- to be available to attend the training course (6 sessions, around 3 hours each)
- to have the ability and willingness to undertake self-directed work in-between sessions
- to hold basic computer skills and a current email address
