Come live, work, play, train, eat, in community at our circus retreat center located just outside of Puerto Escondido, Mexico on the Oaxaca coast. 

This residency is best for circus professionals or pre-professionals as well as digital nomads, artists, nature lovers, and creatives.  We provide all of your basic needs so you can live, work, breathe, play and have time for it all.

This residency is a community living situation.  This means that we all have our private spaces, work, lives, but we see each other at meals and generally interact like community.  Creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels safe to be themselves is very important to us.  For this reason, we ask you to tell us a bit about yourself in your own words.  You can include your interests, personality traits, and your experience living around other people.  Feel free to send us a short introduction video if you prefer it to writing about yourself.  We are not looking for the 'cool kids'.  Just for people who are comfortable with themselves and easy to live around.   
As part of community connection, all residents are required to offer a community class or activity once week.  
You can organize a class, a group game, activity, or outing.
You might volunteer to help out in the garden or volunteer with the local children’s program.

We cohabitate in healthy ways and are able to support each other.  We create an inclusive environment and not tolerate shaming or judgement in any way.   All residents must be up front with us about their mental and physical health.  It is important for each resident to have support outside so they can co-create community while they are here.  Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

All residents are required to tell us if and what medications are being taken and whether they are prescribed by a physician or someone else.  Sweet Retreats does not tolerate the abuse of drugs or medicines.  If a resident is found breaking our drugs & alcohol policy, they will be asked to leave without refund or credit.

We are expanding our arts and education programs for local children and prioritize free programs for kids whose families cannot afford these kinds of activities.  Our goal is to be able to pay a full time educator to develop and run after school programs in and around Puerto Escondido.  Read about our current Social Circus Program here.
