Undergraduate Research Faculty Funds
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences welcomes faculty to apply for funds to support projects with undergraduate researchers. The application review will begin immediately and will continue until funds are exhausted. Questions may be directed to Monica Kimbrell (mkimbrel@vt.edu).

Faculty are encouraged to apply for funds to support undergraduate research such as:
-hourly pay for students to support projects as paid undergraduate researchers
-research/creative scholarship expenses to facilitate the inclusion of undergraduate researchers (this includes students earning academic credit or being paid)

FAQ
-This new funding opportunity is open to all CLAHS faculty with aims to support research production during COVID-19 and engage undergraduate students.
-Funds are available until exhausted and the first review started on October 6th. The second review begins March 25th.
-Funds must be used before May 15, 2022.
-Award amounts will range until the available budget is exhausted. Funding projects up to $2000 is likely but will be based on demand.
-Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis.
-Guidance to post paid undergraduate research positions via Handshake will be offered. Handshake is the system current students use to search for employment (on and off campus). Positions can be listed for student wage and work study.
-The hiring process will occur within the department/school unit. Students who are hired will be required to complete Title IX training, use TimeClock, and participate in other project specific related training.
