PSD COVID Parent Agreement Activities 2020-21
Dear Prescott Parents and Students,
The safety and well-being of all staff, children, and families continue to be of utmost importance to us. Although we can not eliminate all risks, we are taking precautions to help reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 or any other communicable illness which will require your assistance as well.
All students and parents must sign this agreement, acknowledging our expectations, before a student will be allowed into the school facilities and/or grounds for district-organized events. We are asking that parents screen their children daily, to reduce the chance that sick students are not in any school facility. This will help reduce exposure to illness. Please do NOT send any student if they are showing any ONE of the following symptoms marked with an * or TWO or more of the remaining symptoms:
*Shortness of breath
*Difficulty breathing
*New loss of taste or smell
*Cough (new or change in your normal cough)
Temp 100.4 or higher
Sore throat
Muscle pain
Chills
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
New headache
Congestion or runny nose
Also, please do not come to school facilities and remain in self-isolation if:
A. Your student has been tested for COVID-19 - they cannot return to our campus until test results are known and negative.
B. You or an immediate family member have been tested for COVID-19 - students cannot return until test results are known.
C. Your student or an immediate family member has been contacted by public health and notified they were in close contact of an individual who tested positive for COVID-19
D. Your student is a close contact of someone that is ill
Returning to a school facility after suspected COVID-19 symptoms or COVID-19 exposure:
Each situation is unique so the return to school programs will be evaluated on a case by case scenario. At a minimum, your student will need to remain out of school facilities for 72 hours after a fever is gone and symptoms are improving, or until the student has a negative COVID-19 test result and symptoms are gone for 24 hours.
If a staff member or child has tested positive for COVID-19 or is in close contact of someone with COVID-19:
1. They will be contacted by public health. Public health will provide instruction on isolation time frame and orders after investigating the situation.
2. Public health will provide release papers from isolation when they are no longer contagious.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep our students and staff healthy. Abiding by these protocols will enable us to run programs as safely as possible and to expand our programs by taking these measured steps. This agreement is essential for participation on district grounds and taken very seriously. If your child does become ill while at school, they will be removed from the group immediately and put in an isolated space with a staff member. We will contact family/emergency contacts to pick them up immediately (must be within an hour).
The Prescott School District reserves the right to adjust this contract at any time in an effort to make the environment as safe as possible for staff and students.
