I want to volunteer for the Champlain Valley Fair!
Guest Services Information Specialist

Responsibilities
The Guest Services Department strives to give our guests the best possible experience while attending the Champlain Valley Fair and many other events throughout the year. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy meeting new people.

Guest Services volunteers perform one or more of these responsibilities at the Fair:
1. We staff the two Information Booths located outside on the grounds in teams of 2 or 3.
2. We also staff, in teams of 2, a Booth inside the State Building where we invite guests to enter a free raffle. These volunteers mostly interact with the public but are trained to answer questions.
3. We also have teams of 2 acting as Strollers on the grounds to answer questions. Strollers also give breaks to those volunteers staffing the Information Booths or the Raffle table in State Building.
4. We assist at the 3:00 p.m. daily Parade and walk along beside the parade to help keep our guests out of the path of the Parade. We have large animals and vehicles.

Volunteers work a 6 hour shift. The first shift is from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the second shift is from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.. The evening shift is when the big crowds join us.

Volunteer perks:
1. Champlain Valley blue polo shirt(s)
2. Free Fair tickets and free parking. Each 6 hour shift worked means 3 Fair tickets and 3 parking passes. Use one ticket and parking pass to volunteer.
3. A Volunteer Banquet on Thursday evening
4. A chance to be “Star of the Day” for extraordinary service
5. Volunteers working 5 or more shifts receive a 10-day Fair Pass lanyard
