Spring Garden Civic Association Block Captain. We so appreciate your interest + are excited to work with you to foster a welcoming, clean, and connected neighborhood.
Block captains and co-captains are neighborhood volunteers who foster a sense of community on the block(s) in the vicinity of their residence/business through consistent communication, exchange of information, and neighbor engagement.
- Join the Community: become part of the growing network of civically engaged neighbors who love Spring Garden and want to help move the neighborhood forward.
- Create a Welcoming Neighborhood Environment: reach out to new residents, introduce them to neighbors, organize a block party, encourage others to get involved.
- Share Vital Information: be the eyes and ears for your block, create a method to keep your neighbors informed (emails, texts, WhatsApp, flyers, newsletter, etc.).
- Clean It Up: organize block cleanups, encourage adherence to trash collection guidelines and report issues such as graffiti, dumping, potholes, or other city issues to 311; dead/damaged trees to SGCA (sgcaphilly@gmail.com).
- Have a Voice: attend SGCA meetings and Police Service (PSA3) meetings, share feedback and gather information.
