🌸'24 Hanami Cafe Food Volunteer Form🌸
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Pop-Up Hanami this year! Please be sure to read the following information prior to filling out the form. Any questions about anything related to the food team can be directed to Keltie (me), the Food Lead (hazelncherry on discord) or to Nick, the Cafe Lead (nickdname on discord).

As members of the food team for our cosplay cafe, you will be expected to volunteer for the entire day on March 23rd. There will be orientation and training meetings leading up to the event, in addition to training on the day-of prior to the cafe opening.

You won't be on shift for the duration of the entire event! We'll be scheduling shifts and break times for every volunteer so you'll have free access to the rest of venue while on break! As volunteers you'll also be receiving additional raffle tickets! We will try to do our best to make accommodations- for example if you're performing onstage we can schedule your shifts around that! Just please try and let us know as early in advance as possible!

Position Details
  • As a member of the food team for the cosplay cafe, you'll be responsible for setting up individual food stations and our kitchen environment, plating and decorating pre-purchased food for customers, and helping clean up and move out of our space at the end of the event.
Experience working in restaurants or cafe's is not required! The main part of the position is plating food, and we'll ensure you have practice in doing so beforehand, as we'll go over all the different steps and procedures in the training meetings!

We will contact you via Discord to confirm your volunteer role by FEBRUARY 17th, 2024 at the latest. Please set your Discord settings to allow for direct messages from server members so that we can contact you. (For this to work you also need to be a member of the UBCAni Discord Server). We may send out messages to those who have not been selected, but we will for sure have a notice in our newsletter, discord announcements, and on our website once all volunteers have been confirmed.  

The cafe team and I will do our best to make the volunteer experience as smooth as possible, taking into consideration what worked and what didn't from last year as well. Thanks for reading and thank you for your application!
