About Carnegie STEM Excellence Pathway
The Carnegie STEM Pathway is a strategic-planning process to aid schools and districts in improving STEM education. The Pathway can be facilitated by a trained Pathway Provider with multiple schools and districts through a series of workshops conducted throughout the academic year.

These workshops are titled:
I. Emerging | II. Progressing | III. Advancing

Teams of 8 to 10 people will attend each of the three workshops. Teams may represent an individual school or an entire school district.

The total team cost for the three day-long workshops is $600. Each team member receives a Pathway Partner Workbook. Lunch is included each day.

All workshops are at CIU 10's West Decatur Office.
Emerging Workshop: Tuesday, October 1, 2019
The Emerging Workshop is intended for Pathway Partners as a first step toward improving their STEM offerings or for those re-evaluating their progress on the Pathway in subsequent iterations of this improvement process. Partners will be given time to work collaboratively within their STEM Leadership Team for the purposes of creating an Action Plan to put into place at their educational institution.

Goals of Emerging:
1. Create a common understanding of high-quality STEM education
2. Enable Pathway Partners to reflect on current conditions of STEM education in their schools/districts
3. Identify key Priority Areas for improvement
4. Create an Action Plan using the online Pathway Tool
Progressing Workshop: Tuesday, February 4, 2020
The Progressing Workshop is intended for Pathway Partners who have been consistently working for several months to implement the Action Plans created during the Emerging Workshop. Partners will have the opportunity to collaborate with one another specifically in breakout sessions designed around common Action Plan goal areas. Partner teams also will review their progress toward completing their Action Plans and identifying further support and resources that can be used to achieve their goals.

Goals of Progressing:
1. Review Action Plan goals of Pathway Partners
2. Sharing of Best Practices through collaboration
3. Review of progress on Action Plans
4. Identifying further support and resources
Advancing Workshop: Tuesday, May 26, 2020
The Advancing Workshop is intended for Pathway Partners who are completing the Pathway process. Partners reflect on the implementation of their Action Plans and their schools’/districts’ connection to the four pillars of STEM education.

Goals of Advancing:
1. Reflect upon the Partners’ connection to the four pillars of STEM education
2. Share experiences on Action Plan implementation
3. Make a plan to continue the Pathway
