"Reducing Preventable Maternal and Under-5 Mortality in Nigeria" is a project co-designed by the Harvard University Students - Birukti Tsige (Harvard '23), Public Health Intern and Susan Takang (Harvard '24), Partnerships and Communications Intern, alongside the Wellness Africa Foundation (WAF) leadership team, under the 2022 WAF Summer Undergraduate Internship Programme.
Birukti, whose major is Neuroscience, with a secondary in Global Health & Global Policy, developed the presentation with key technical inputs from Dr. Omotola Akinmolayan (WAF's Programme Director); Dr. Olabisi Dedeke (Consultant Paediatrician and MWAN, Ogun State President); Dr. Anne Adah-Ogoh (Head, Policy and Programmes, PSHA) and Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu (MD, FMC Abeokuta). Birukti will give the presentation, while expert panel discussion will be from medical professionals and community leaders.
