Cape Horn: Senior Fellow Saturday on April 27

This is a very special Senior Fellow Event co-hosted by Friends of the Gorge!

All Senior Fellows and Fellows are invited. 
You are welcome to bring a partner/spouse/guest.
These are family-friendly events!

Our Day at Cape Horn

Join Senior Fellows Frances Portillo (Class 15), and Mika Barret (Class 41) as they share about the Columbia River Gorge Accessible Trails Project. We'll also be joined by Kevin Gorman, and Dan Bell from Friends of the Gorge. Let’s explore the Cape Horn trail together, eat a homemade tamale lunch, and enjoy a spring day in the Gorge. 

Spanish interpretation will be provided!

9:30 AM: Gather & Coffee
10:00 AM: Welcome & Introductions
10:30 AM: Tour & Walk
11:30 AM: Homemade Tamale Lunch
12:00 PM: Accessible Trails Presentation and Q&A
1:30 PM: Optional afternoon trip to Catherine Creek 

LOCATION: 601 Strunk Road, Washougal, WA

  • From Washougal, take WA-14 east for 6.1 miles and turn left onto Belle Center Rd. After 1.4 miles turn right onto Mt Pleasant Rd. After about a half mile turn right onto Strunk Rd., property entrance is at the end of the road to the left (marked by ‘Collins Point’ sign).
  • From the east, take WA-14 east and take a right on Salmon Falls Rd. Take a left onto Canyon Creek Rd after about .2 miles. Then take a left on to Mt Pleasant Rd for about 1.5 miles and turn left onto Strunk Rd., property entrance is at the end of the road to the left (marked by ‘Collins Point’ sign).

Cost: $30 per person pays for lunch and also helps us to offset the cost of Spanish interpretation, speaker honorariums, staff time, etc. It's a sliding scale. Please pay what you can here: www.alforegon.org/donate
