Sensory-Friendly "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland" at the Giant Screen Experience: August 14th
In celebration of our current exhibition in Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, "The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited," we’re bringing a selection of Jim Henson film favorites to the Giant Screen Experience this summer.
For our guests on the Autism Spectrum, see an early morning Sensory Friendly Screening of "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland" on Saturday, August 14th at 10:00 am. A tug-of-war between Elmo and his friend sends his blanket to faraway Grouchland, a place full of grouchy creatures. Elmo and all his friends from Sesame Street embark on a fun-filled adventure with one mission: to rescue Elmo's blanket.
Your experience includes modifications to the traditional theater experience:
Lighting: The house lights stay on throughout the film
Sound: The sound is turned down for sensitive ears
Format: No 3D - all movies are played in regular format, eliminating concerns about 3D glasses
Environment: Stress-free and welcoming
Concessions: Available at the Giant Screen Experience Lobby
Free admission is made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services, but ADVANCE REGISTRATION is required. Please register on this form by noon on Friday, August 13th.
