IUW 2022 Abstract Submission Form
The University of Toronto Human Factors Interest Group (HFIG) is pleased to be hosting the 22nd Annual Human Factors Engineering Inter-University Workshop (IUW) on Saturday November 19th, 2022 at the University of Toronto's St. George campus in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

We invite student and industry researchers to present and share their work in human factors, ergonomics, and any related fields that examine the relationships between people and technology, tools, and/or systems. All industry professionals and students are encouraged to participate, regardless of prior experience at academic conferences. We invite submissions for works at all stages of progress: completed work, works in progress, and proposed research plans. Certificates will be presented to the presenters with the best podium and poster presentations!

Student and industry professionals are invited to present their research at IUW 2022 in the form of either a:
1) podium presentation (10-minute oral presentation with slides + 5-minute Q&A)
2) poster presentation (shorter oral presentation with poster + Q&A)

Podium presentations: This format is reserved for completed projects and works in progress. Selected applicants will give a 10-minute oral presentation with slides, followed by a 5-minute Q&A discussion period. We highly encourage eligible works to be submitted for this format, as IUW is an excellent opportunity to improve your presentation skills in a student-friendly, supportive environment!

Poster presentations: This format is open to works at any stage of progress: completed projects, works in progress, and proposed research plans. Selected applicants will walk the audience through their poster/work in a shorter-form oral presentation with a digital poster (or slide deck). The presentation can be up to 10 minutes long, and will be followed by a shorter Q&A (up to 5 minutes).
