Youth, Peace and Security – A Global Webinar

The Power of Youth in the Dignity Revolution & in the Midst of Occupation, War and Peace: On the frontlines of the struggle for dignity, democracy, security and peace in Ukraine Today

Monday November 21st 2022 – On the 9th Anniversary of the Maidan Dignity Revolution

Youth all over the world are key actors addressing the most important challenges of our time: war, conflict, authoritarianism, violent extremism, gender-based violence, and climate change.

On the 9th anniversary of the Maidan Revolution in Ukraine, we will hear from youth across Ukraine on the meaning of the revolution for them, and the roles youth have taken on since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, occupation and war. Youth today in Ukraine are at the frontlines – as volunteers providing humanitarian support in Ukraine and abroad, organizing aid, serving in the army, working on trauma healing and recovery, and peacebuilding, nonviolence and civilian resistance to the occupation.

Likewise, in many areas of the world, youth are and have been in the forefront of protests for democracy, human rights and social justice - during the Arab Spring and beyond, in Chile, India, China and elsewhere; for democracy and women’s rights in Iran; and against ethnic violence and mass atrocities in Ethiopia.

The aim of this Global Youth Peace and Security Webinar on The Power of Youth in the Dignity Revolution War and Peace is to create a space for  youth from Ukraine in the midst of the war and occupation to meet youth from around the world tackling similar issues and challenges or wanting to know more about what is happening in Ukraine today.

It will be a moment to listen, exchange, share lessons learned and be empowered and inspired; to see how youth are, even in the most challenging and difficult situations, deeply engaged to create for a better world.

Therefore we invite you to join us on Monday November 21st 2022 at 9:00 EST | 15:00 CET | 16:00 EET | 22:00 CST!
