This WLHD, be part of a a team that will be putting up Frankie's Big Apple for May 2022! As we celebrate Lindy Hop and Frankie Manning's birthday, we invite you to be part of a live performance that is in the works for this year's WLHD celebrations. One of the performance items will be Frankie's Big Apple, a routine that Frankie manning choreographed to the song Flying Home for the Big Apple Lindy Hoppers in New York, whom he worked with extensively at the beginning of the resurgence of Lindy Hop in the 80s and 90s. This is a routine from that era. It has been preserved by the Big Apple Lindy Hoppers. It combines elements of the big apple (similar to the Whiteys version from Keep Punchin') as well as airsteps and partnerwork at the end.

You will learn the whole routine as part of a team and perform the routine for WLHD 2022. This routine contains airsteps and you will be required to learn at least one airstep with your partner. There will be some physical conditioning to prepare you for airsteps. The course stretches over 2 months in preparation for WLHD. The aim is to perform it live, but pending social distancing restrictions, we may have to record the performance for broadcase for WLHD 2022. This depends on the situation in May.

Classes will be on Wednesdays 730 to 930pm every week starting from 23rd March.

Cost - $30/session. As part of the WLHD celebrations we are making this course as affordable as we can!
Payment will be 300sgd for the whole series.

We recommend that you signup with a partner, someone who you are comfortable doing airsteps with. You may signup without a partner but we cannot guarantee a partner for you, nor the comfort level when working with someone you do not know or have not danced with before.

BSL emphasizes safety first when doing airsteps, but will not be liable for injuries sustained through the practice and execution of airsteps.
