Since this was our first experience organizing a retreat for the Yarniacs, we wanted to ask for feedback from the community on different aspects of retreat planning that can help us with the next go-round.

In planning our first retreat, the committee was mindful of these factors:

The Yarniacs community lives all around the globe. We wanted to find a location that was relatively central for most of us. Because the committee was all in the U.S., we focused primarily on locations in the U.S. But wouldn't it be cool to have an international Yarniacs retreat?
In looking for locations, we tried to look at cities with "hub" airports.
We wanted to keep the cost fairly affordable so no big resort hotels or cruises.
We wanted a retreat center that could provide meals, if possible. If not, we wanted some place that had places to eat nearby or that would allow us to cook simple meals together. But honestly, none of us really wanted to cook or wash dishes.
