Overview
PHSC Student Ambassadors are a select group of students chosen through an application and interview process to assist prospective students in the enrollment process and represent the Public Health Science program (PHSC) at various outreach activities and events. The program seeks students from diverse backgrounds who are enthusiastic and demonstrate exceptional communication and leadership skills.  PHSC Student Ambassadors partake in various events and activities.
Responsibilities
• Representing the PSHC program during UMD/SPH functions (summer registrations, receptions, open houses etc.)
• Answering emails received from the “Ask a Current Student” portal in the PHSC Student Ambassador website.
• Staffing information tables at First Look Fair, Maryland Day and other selected SPH events.
• Participating in (1) SEIPH service event per semester.
• Serving as encouraging role models and advocates of higher education to accepted students.
• Participating in special events as needed.
• Accepting this position will require your participation for at least (1) full academic year (Spring 2022- Fall 2022)
2Required Qualifications
• Currently enrolled as a PHSC student. Completion of two or more semesters in PHSC.
• Commitment of two (2) consecutive semesters.
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 15 hours of service per semester | (1 hour per week)
• Ability to participate in ongoing PHSC Student Ambassador trainings.
• Availability for some evening and/or weekend activities.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for PHSC!
Application Procedures
1) Complete the form below no later than April 27, 2022 for best consideration.
2) Selected applicants will be invited to an interview via zoom in May 2022.
3) Training/Orientation for new PHSC Student Ambassadors will be scheduled in August. Attendance at this orientation is mandatory. However, we will work with Ambassadors to find a convenient time.
