Battery capacity test
The following question will ask you about the current capacity/health of your high voltage battery. The following is a brief list of instructions how to carry out the proper and trusted test for this. If at any time you are unsure how to proceed and provide accurate numbers, please reach out to those on any of the following communities:


Battery capacity test instructions:
  1. Fully charge the battery to 100%
  2. Reset a trip meter
  3. Turn off or use minimal accessories, specifically climate control and heat. Anything that causes the ICE/engine to start will invalidate this test.
  4. Drive in EV Now mode under 45-50mph. Avoid highway use if at all possible.
  5. Drive until the plug-in charge is completely drained and drops to EV Auto/Hybrid operation.
  6. Review the trip meter or safely stop the vehicle and shut it down to view the trip summary. You are looking for the kWh used during the trip.

Has any care been taken to prolong the life of the battery?

Examples: Driving in EV mode only at 45-50mph or under, no highway driving. Restricting charging to cooler hours during warmer months. Limiting use of cabin heat or using EV Later to generate heat during colder months. etc..
