Pathways to Progress: Conference on Education Coordination for Afghan Women and Girls
The Stanford Center for South Asia and the Afghan American Foundation will be hosting a virtual conference on September 12 & 13, 2023 with the primary objective of addressing critical questions concerning the consolidation of resources for Afghan women's and girls' education in the diaspora and in Afghanistan, the development of an effective coordination mechanism, and the fulfillment of identified needs. The conference will bring together various organizations, groups and stakeholders actively engaged in providing and promoting educational programs for Afghan women and girls to discuss and answer the following questions:

Who is doing what in the ecosystem for diaspora led or supported programs for girls and women in Afghanistan?

How do we bring resources together for education in Afghanistan?

What could an effective coordination mechanism look like?

How do we meet the needs identified?

To contribute to this collective effort, we kindly request that you fill out the attached survey if you are working on Afghan women's and girls' education programs. The conference organizers will reach out to you to discuss the next steps and provide information on conference registration.

Organizers: Halima Kazem - Afghanistan Historian at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, Mustafa Babak, Executive Director of the Afghan American Foundation, Nasiruddin Nezaami, Visiting Fellow at Stanford Law School
