School Climate 2S/LGBTQIA+ Survey-- 2024 HumCo

This survey is for ALL youth in Humboldt and the neighboring Indigenous Lands, ages 11-19 years old. It takes around 10 minutes to complete.

This survey is anonymous; no one will know who you are unless you share identifying information in the comments section. Please take this survey only once per person.

We will use the results of this survey for several purposes, including:

1) to choose priorities for the development of new programs and services

2) to apply for grant money so we can better support local youth
3) to track changes/progress (we repeat the survey annually in May)

4) to advocate for the civil rights of youth in schools, the community, and in government policies

5) to educate the community about the experiences and needs of local youth

There are no known dangers for taking the survey, beyond potentially having questions bring up unpleasant memories/painful feelings. Mental health resources are shared at the end of this survey to mitigate any risk. Please reach out for support if needed.

Vocabulary: Queer and 2S/LGBTQIA+ are used to refer to people who are Two Spirit/Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual and anyone who prefers not to be labeled who isn't 100% heterosexual and cisgender (aka not trans/non-binary/gender diverse). If you want to learn more about what these terms mean, there is a vocabulary with definitions on the Queer Humboldt Vocabulary Webpage.
