The Raleigh Substance Use Advisory Commission (SUAC) seeks to eradicate the suffering of all persons affected by and at risk of substance use. SUAC advocates for a healthy community by:
- Advising Raleigh City Council on trends, issues, and needs related to substance use.
- Promoting best practices for preventing, intervening, and treating substance use.
- Advocating for local policy initiatives affecting substance use and related mental health considerations.
- Serving as liaisons between the Raleigh community and Raleigh City Council.
- Facilitating opportunities for collaboration among substance use resources in the Raleigh community and identifying gaps in services.
- Actively reducing the stigma surrounding substance use.
