Dear Youth Group members,

Try your hand at Pastel Nagomi Art and make Christmas cards for seniors!

This 3-hour Pastel Nagomi Art workshop aims to provide an opportunity for participants to relax and express themselves through creating simple artwork. Participants will learn Pastel Nagomi Art techniques and follow step-by-step directions to create a drawing. After, participants will have the opportunity to use what they learned to design their own Christmas greeting card. The six best designed greeting cards will be printed and presented to seniors at Mon Sheong Long-Term Care Centres and Private Care Centres. Details of the workshop are as follows:

Date: October 15, 2022 (Saturday)
Time: 2:00 -5:00 p.m.
Location: Scarborough Mon Sheong Community & Volunteer Services Centre (2020 McNicoll Ave. Scarborough)

Pastel Nagomi Art is a form of self-healing art founded in Japan by Mr. Hosoya Norikatsu in 2003. The word “Nagomi” means harmony and calmness. It creates a sense of harmony and calmness inside the hearts of painters and its admirers by using pastels and fingers to draw. It is suitable for people of all ages and no art background is needed.
