Vegan Pledge Registration - 2024 Long Island Vegan Living Program
Thank you for your interest in veganism, and we look forward to having you at the Vegan Living Program!

Veganism is defined as the way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as possible and practical, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose. In dietary terms it refers to the practice of dispensing with all animal products including meat, fish, poultry, eggs, animal milks, honey, and their derivatives. Unlike 'vegetarian', the word 'vegan' specifically implies moral concern for animals, and extends to more than just diet. Vegans don't wear leather, fur, wool, feathers, or silk and are opposed to zoos, circuses, rodeos, animal testing, or any other industry that harms animals. The Vegan Living Program and its educational content were designed to reflect this definition of veganism as a moral imperative.

We will place you on a team with Vegan Coaches and Pledges who will work together throughout the program. Do you have any hobbies, interests, life situations, or other info about you which would help us meet your needs? (For example, do you cook for a big family? Do you work out regularly? Do you manage any medical conditions or food sensitivities? Please tell us as much as possible that will help us place you on a team.) *
The benefits of being a Pledge are that you will be matched with volunteer Vegan Coaches (who are committing their time to you for the duration of the program), receive a binder full of useful info and recipes, and a goody bag with samples and other free stuff. In addition to the four mandatory educational sessions, there will also be a graduation celebration for Pledges who complete the entire program. A great deal of time, energy and resources are put into the VLP by the organizers and your Coaches so we need to know that you will attend all four educational sessions and the graduation. *
Educational sessions Weeks 1, 2 and 3 will be held at Kellenberg Hall, Room 106 at Molloy University, 1000 Hempstead Ave, Rockville Centre, NY 11570. On June 22nd (session 4) we will take a field trip to Skylands Animal Sanctuary in Wantage, New Jersey (carpooling is encouraged!). Graduation will be held at Molloy University, 1000 Hempstead Ave, Rockville Centre, NY 11570.

Please Read:
Vegan Living Program educational content is not meant to be construed as health advice, or take the place of a consultation with a medical professional. All Vegan Pledges will be given a release form indicating as much at the first meeting on June 1st, which MUST be signed in order to participate in the program.

All Vegan Living Program events will be documented with video and/or photography, which will be posted online and/or used in promotional materials for the program. Media may be invited to some sessions. Submitting this registration form indicates your acceptance of these terms. Anyone who refuses to be photographed upon attending will have to be asked to leave, as we cannot guarantee that your image will not be captured in a theater full of people. Our program is successful due in part to the impact that showing it through photographs has on drawing attendance.
