Learn about the sonic environments in current urban contexts, and how we live and interact with these surroundings in the realm of audio.

Dr Jordan Lacey is an urban sound researcher, curator and musician based in the School of Design at RMIT University (Melbourne, Australia) who works at the interface of urban design and sound art. He is author of Sonic Rupture: a practice-led to urban soundscape design and creator of numerous publicly situated sound art installations that explore the relationship between urban and nature. In this talk he will discuss the meaning of sonic rupture, and how we might reimagine the urban through the sonic encounters we both create and experience.
