JTA Conversations: Analyzing Holocaust Film
Rich Brownstein is a lecturer on Holocaust film at Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem and the author of the new book "Holocaust Cinema Complete." Over the course of writing his book, he has seen and analyzed nearly every Holocaust movie ever made — over 440 of them. In a recent, widely read and discussed article for JTA, Brownstein named "The Grey Zone" (2001) the greatest Holocaust movie of all time and interviewed its writer-director, Tim Blake Nelson.

Join JTA Managing Editor for Local News Andrew Lapin for a lively conversation with Brownstein about the promises and pitfalls of Holocaust cinema; the best and worst movies of the genre; and how such movies should be used in the classroom. During this event, we will also share and discuss the results of a recent readers' survey that asked you to name your favorite Holocaust film. The survey is still available, and we encourage all those interested in the event to submit their responses: https://forms.gle/18vuAo8p1F2RcBGC6.
