California State Senator Dave Cortese invites local community members, high school and college students to volunteer at his 2nd Annual Picnic by the Lake: A Multicultural Festival and Resource Fair on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 from 10 AM to 3 PM at Hellyer County Park.
For over a decade, Senator Cortese has hosted communities across Santa Clara County for Multicultural Festivals and Resource Fairs fostering connections to essential services, providing local entertainment and engaging activities for people of all ages.
Picnic by the Lake is held in partnership with the County of Santa Clara's Parks and Recreation Department and the San Jose Japantown Lions Club.
If you or your member organization are interested in volunteering at Picnic by the Lake, please complete and submit this form by Monday, September 23rd, 2024. All volunteers will be assigned specific roles helping with resource booth participant set-up and clean-up, guiding event guests to proper parking, and more. Volunteers will also be provided with a light breakfast and lunch.

WHERE: Hellyer County Park. 985 Hellyer Ave, San Jose, CA 95111
WHAT: This event will include multicultural performances from local community groups, a resource fair as well as showcase the beautiful Hellyer County Park, Cottonwood Lake and Coyote Creek Trail, along with several family-friendly and recreational activities. This special festival is a wonderful opportunity to share cultural experiences, information, services, and resources with the local community.
About Hellyer Park: Hellyer County Park offers 178 acres of urban land and is located in the heart of Santa Clara County's regional park system. The Coyote Creek, which meanders through the center of the park, is the focus of the park's natural environment. A thick undergrowth and tall trees characterize the well-defined creek channel which is home to many different species of wildlife.
