Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2022 is Invest In Our Planet.

Our Earth Day Clean Up is sponsored by City of Newark, Keep America Beautiful Newark, MARS Inc., Whole Foods, Passaic Valley Sewage Commission and Shoprite; and in partnership with Integrity House, Link School, Great Oaks Charter School, Lincoln Park Music Speaks, and Lincoln Park Gallery Without Walls.

ABOUT LINCOLN PARK FRIENDS OF COMMUNITY ADVOCACY GROUP
The Friends of Lincoln Park Community Advocacy Group is a community coalition building initiative convened by Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District that includes Lincoln Park neighborhood residents, property managers, businesses, social service organizations, and non-profits working in tandem with City of Newark to improve quality of life and create collective impact in downtown Newark's historic arts district.

Check in and enjoy light continental snacks before you start your Earth Day!
GPS:  LPCCD Office, 450 Washington Street, Newark, NJ (corner of West Kinney)
Walk around back to West Kinney Street and the West Kinney Place alley (see Garden)

9:00AM - 12PM - CLEANING THE COAST
We'll receive our sector assignments, gather our supplies and head out!

12PM-4:30PM - VOLUNTEER LUNCH & COOKING DEMO
Enjoy lunch at the garden and refresh
Hang out for a cooking demo & tasting from Chef Sean Hassan of Rhythm-N-Food

4:30PM-6PM
Kick if in the garden with poetry presented by Lincoln Park Music Speaks and
Lincoln Park Gallery Without Walls
