#3547 Priority Standards Level 1
When teachers collaboratively prioritize their standards they gain clarity around what the students are expected to have learned upon leaving the grade level/ course. They are also able to better differentiate instruction and plan to address gaps or misconceptions in the learning, as well as purposefully align assessments to collect meaningful data on student progress.
This hybrid learning opportunity will support teachers to:
-Understand the rigor of the Illinois Learning Standards
-Understand learning trajectories based on priority standards
-Apply standards prioritization to scope of learning and pacing documents
-Identify local data points for monitoring teacher clarity and impact ons student achievement
-Articulate elements of a balanced and coherent assessment system
-Understand the role of pre-assessment (assessment of prerequisites) in a balanced and coherent assessment system.
-Understand the role of pre-assessment in gauging readiness for learning
-Develop a shared language and strategies for “sprinkling vs. clumping” and “just in time vs. just in case instruction”
