‘Stories from the Streets’: COVID-19 and  communal social experiences
What is the research about?

Thank you for considering completing our survey. As part of the FESTSPACE research project (http://festspace.net), led by University of the West of Scotland, with partners in London, Dublin, Barcelona and Gothenburg, we are interested in finding out more about the informal, spontaneous, amateur festivities or social experiences that have emerged since much of the world entered lockdown in March 2020 in the neighbourhoods and communities of Glasgow and surrounding areas. Has your street hosted performances from local musicians? Has your local area decorated windows or houses to make those regular walks more interesting and enjoyable? Who has initiated and organised these experiences and who has taken part? Are these experiences continuing as lockdown measures ease?

The research has been approved by the University’s Ethics Committee. The project is led by Professor David McGillivray, University of the West of Scotland. If you have any queries please email Prof McGillivray at david.mcgillivray@uws.ac.uk.
