What IS the Priest of Nuffle Invitational?

The PONI is a test not only of your coaching skills, but also of your skill allocation and team building savvy.

What have the Priests of Nuffle go to do with it?

In order to become a genuine star, all players elevated thus pledged to Nuffle that they would be available for one competition, with no exceptions.  This they traded for an always competent apothecary, lifelong fame and in some cases 4 pence and a bag of dirt.

This is that competition.

How does it work?

PONI uses a couple of stages each of which needs to be completed before the games begin:-

Stage 1

Coaches sign up here to participate.

Stage 2

After the signups close we will livestream Nuffle’s pick of stars.  The order in which coaches are assigned stars will be random, as will the star pick.

Stage 3

Once you have your star, you need to create a team around it using our particular rule set and submit your roster.

Stage 4

Once all rosters have been submitted and checked, you'll be invited to the special RES tourney.

Stage 5

Once all coaches have signed up in game - round one starts!

Competition Rules

You will need access to BB2 Legendary Edition for this to work - but we do have a shenanigans route to set you up if you don't.

Each star can only be chosen by Nuffle once.

Nuffle is a benevolent god, sometimes.  If you don’t like your star, you can elect to have Nuffle choose again, but you must accept the second star.  

You will then need to create a team including that star following the rules below, but you can choose any race that star is eligible to play for.  E.g. Morg can play for all non-undead teams, whereas Barik Farblast is dorfs only.

In summary, you have two pots of cash for team creation.

Pot 1 is for your race and is tiered.  This is for all your players, skills and rerolls etc.

Pot 2 is for your star, staff and inducements only. This is defined by the most expensive star picked out of the helmet.

Depending on how many coaches sign up (last season 50) dictates the format. Ideally we have 5 group games and then playoffs, coach slots will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

There are 56 star players available, meaning we are limited to 56 spots for coaches.  Any coaches signed up after 56 spaces have been filled will be on the reserve list.

All coaches will be entered into the competition by time stamp on a first come, first served basis.
