We are delighted to announce that the EEA has established
collaboration with TechnoSocio Advisory (Dr. Emily Springer), a firm that
offers consulting services at the intersection of machine learning, social
inclusion, and international development. We invite you to join us for a half
day seminar on “Machine Learning Basics: Challenges ahead to use machine
learning for developmental aims” that will take place on December 05, 2023 at
EEA conference hall. The seminar will explore the fundamental building blocks
of machine learning, how algorithms are trained, and identify core problems
with using machine learning in developmental contexts.
Are you new to artificial intelligence? Are you a social
scientist that is predominantly qualitative? Then this seminar is for you! This
is an introductory seminar that will kick start your journey into artificial
intelligence and social inclusion. This is a hands-on participatory
lecture—participants should come ready to engage.
This seminar assumes no prior knowledge of
machine learning and is focused on conceptual understandings of algorithms, not
technical. Since we have limited space, we will give a chance on first come and
first serve basis.
