This workshop is part of the Royal College of Art Research Biennale 2023 'Hopscotch',
22nd - 24th, June taking place at the Copeland Gallery, London.
The workshop will be run by Chiara Tommencioni Pisapia, PhD Candidate at the Materials Science Research Centre, Royal College of Art and co-facilitated by Bethan Highley, PhD Candidate at the Centre for Novel Agricultural Products, University of York.
The 'Mapping a novel ecosystem for wool recycling' workshop is designed to populate a novel ecosystem map for bio-based enzymatic recycling of wool as part of Chiara Tommencioni Pisapia PhD research. The map will be populated by participants through their expertise lens and based on discussions with the other participants. The workshop will entails three activities and will last 1h and 30 minutes maximum.
The participation to this workshop is open to:
- fashion/apparel/textiles designers with a good knowledge of wool or more in general keratinous based fibres
- scientists whose work focuses on enzymatic processes or wool or keratinous based fibres
- any stakeholder of the wool industry
- any stakeholder of the textiles recycling industry
- anyone with expertise in circular design strategies for the fashion and textile industry
