Walking Field Trip Permission
There are various times during the course of the school year when we wish to take the students to places off of the school grounds such as other District #719 schools, the senior citizen home, the park, local stores, etc.  Sometimes the students will be walking.  For further distances, bus transportation will be provided and specific field trip permission will be included. We are asking each parent/guardian to sign this general permission slip, which would include any walking field trips or in-district bus trips for the entire school year. More specific information will be given to students and families as these events are scheduled. *
Required
Background Checks
To ensure the safety of our students, we require background checks for the following:• Any volunteer who accompanies students off campus (i.e., chaperones for field trips).• Any volunteer who is responsible for working with students on campus, but not under the supervision of a licensed teacher. Volunteer background checks need to be done one time per year, either at the beginning of the school year or one calendar year from the last date of completing the background check. The cost is $21 and is to be paid online by the volunteer. If the cost is a hardship, volunteers should contact their building principal directly.  Background checks take approximately 48 hours to be processed and cleared through the district. Volunteers may not begin or continue to volunteer until they have been cleared.  For more information regarding background checks for volunteers and to complete the background check, please go to our district website at https://www.priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us/employment/background-checks-for-volunteers *

Parent/Student Handbook
In an effort to reduce costs, save our valuable resources, and make efficient use of technology, each elementary school Parent/Student Handbook can be found as a link on the building’s website.  If you do not have access to the Internet and/or desire a paper copy of the handbook instead, please call or stop by our school office. The Parent/Student Handbook contains information regarding district and building rules, policies, procedures and expectations.  It should serve as a resource for you to access throughout the school year.  In order to begin the school year with an understanding of expectations for daily conduct, we ask that you and your child review the sections of the Parent/Student Handbook listed below. •Student Discipline  •Zero Tolerance Behaviors/Weapons Policy  •Bus Conduct & Transportation Information  •Playground Rules & Expectations  •Dress Code •Outdoor Behavior Guidelines  •Attendance Information  •Data Privacy/Release of Student Information  •Visitors  •Student Use of Technology •Procedure For Dropping Off Children •Procedure For Picking Up Children *
