Celebrate Austen's 250th Birthday and invigorate your practice with the Jane Austen Summer Program!
JASP’s teacher scholarships are open to all current middle school and high school teachers who want to learn more about incorporating Jane Austen, youth writing, and better practices in their curriculum.

This year's theme is "Sensibility and Domesticity." We will explore topics including medicine, birth, and domestic arts in both Regency England and colonial North Carolina. You can find out  more here: https://www.janeaustensummer.org/

We encourage current middle and high school teachers in English, Social Studies, History, Drama, Theater, and other relevant disciplines to apply.  Spend your JASP conference gathering ideas on how to incorporate older texts, historic periods, inquiry, close reading, and experiential education into your curriculum.

Scholarships cover the full tuition fee and materials as well as a welcome luncheon for teacher scholars. Applications are competitive, and we request you share your own best thoughts, not those of AI writing aids. The teacher scholar application deadline is March 14, 2025; we aim to inform selected teachers in the first week of April.

As a 2017 scholarship winner said, “I found the Jane Austen Summer Program to be one of the most inspirational events I have ever attended. It is an experience that has had a lasting positive impact on my practice as a teacher!”
