University of Minnesota - CIP Code Change Request
The Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) provides a taxonomic scheme that supports the accurate tracking and reporting of fields of study and program completions activity. Occasionally, a CIP code needs to be updated to reflect curricular changes affecting all students in the program. Academic department chairs or administrators may propose a CIP code change using this form.

Using this form, please explain the reason for your request and provide notes or supporting documentation for the change. Note that CIP codes are not changed just to qualify a program for a  STEM designated CIP. Rather, there needs to be a change to curriculum or other documentation to show that a different code is a better fit. This usually includes citing program and course changes made in Coursedog.
