Attention Connect Families, we are looking for your support and participation. Please take a moment to review the survey below. We are seeking donations for the following activities: Core 1's Clothespin Car project and Justin's Makerspace. Please find the Wishlist and details at the bottom of the form for support!

The event will take place afterschool on Friday April 29, at the Connect K8 campus, from 3:30-5:30pm! We look forward to a wonder-filled S.T.E.A.M Carnival with our beloved Community, Friends, and Family.

What is your S.T.E.M. Offering, Experiment, or Exploration of Learning Activity? Some ideas may include: Makerspace Creations and 'the Arts': Musical instrument engineering using recycled materials, trash art. Science: Garden Club (Future Growers/Sustainability), the Science of Taste. Technology: Core 2 project - Biomimicry. Engineering: Core 2 project- Cardboard Arcade, testing and experimentation, building structures, four forces of flight, sink or float, motion and speed. Math: guessing jars and Magna Tiles. Please add your project and explanation.

Clothespin Cars - Core 1 Project - RSVP and materials request. See example here: https://craftsbyamanda.com/clothespin - you will find links to purchase materials inside the article. *We need volunteers to donate the following: -bamboo straws (1/2 of straw per kid, 20 straws would serve 40 kids) -wooden clothespin (1 per student) the package linked will serve 100 kids- buttons (4 per student) the box linked will serve 25 students-twist ties (2 per student) the package linked will serve more students than will attend -Tacky Glue- 4 bottles total. Justin's Makerspace- Creating an Instrument from repurposed materials!  “Come make a real instrument from recyclables or see what you can create on your own!” What types of Instruments can we make from Recyclables (pending material availability): 2 string guitar, Wash tub bass, Tin can “drum set”, & Shakers of all types! Dear Maker'Friends- "WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT GATHERING THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS" - Food cans #10 size (biggest ones) and any other sizes, Paint stir sticks (large 5 gallon size), Tire inner tubes all sizes, String of any kind, Old clothes to be cut for straps, binding and decorating, Thick filament line (fishing line) or thin weed-wacker cord, 1/2 inch screws or smaller. And at least one parent volunteer who has experience using a drill. Donation Angels and Volunteer Czars can leave a detailed note here. Thank you!
