The Shakespeare Market - May through October 2021 Participant Application
Hey everybody!  Welcome to The Shakespeare Market Application!  We are planning events on the first and third Sunday from May through October.  We would love to have you join us!

The Shakespeare Market is not a business.  We are a community inspired concept designed to bring life back to the Shakespeare Property. We've got 14 beautiful acres on the Housatonic River bay, a storied history, and a determination to come together as a community on the famed property of the American Shakespeare Festival Theater.  So how about Farmers and Food Trucks! Crafters and Community Groups!  Live music and performers of all kinds!  People of all ages, from all over the place, all coming out together as a community to see the best in one another!

The Shakespeare Market does not want to take your money. We want to make you money.  That's why we use the  "Fair Price" system. Fill out the form below, pick the block of dates (or individual dates) that work for you, and decide what a fair - per event - price is for your business.

Unfortunately, we only can provide approximately 50 spots at this time.  We hope to provide more as we continue to grow the market and may be able to do so mid summer.  At this time the Market Manager will have the agonizing duty of selecting among all the applications.  The primary goal is to create a balanced market with a little something for everyone.  The Town of Stratford is making extraordinary contributions to the market and candidates' connection to Stratford will always be considered.  Uniqueness and the unexpected count too.

And finally, our bills, which we will have plenty of, must be considered.  If we are not financially stable we cannot exist until the end of time. Bills are bills. The Shakespeare Market is committed to a safe and orderly event.  We are investing in that commitment by asking our Stratford Police and the Police Cadets to be there with us each and every time. We want the market to be a blast and that means live music!  We are investing in that by creating a budget for musicians and performers of all kinds!  Depending on how many people decide to come out, we may need to provide a shuttle bus too. The Shakespeare Market will be a fully registered 501c3 Corporation and all our financials will be properly reported. We are in this process now and it will be completed before we process any payments.

Please be patient.  We aim to be here forever and ever. This is going to be so much fun. And we want you all to be able to participate! Sign up, pay what you can and we can have a chance to make this happen cooperatively for the benefit of all.
