The Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning is now
accepting nominations for the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame. Several (usually
4-5) Hall of Fame inductees are chosen each year by committees of writers and
readers at the Carnegie Center and the Kentucky Arts Council. Inductees must
have published work of enduring quality and stature. They also must have a strong
connection to Kentucky, such as by birth or a significant period of residence. Note:
because this is a “lifetime achievement” award, living inductees tend to be
those whose careers have been well-established and recognized over many years.
Deceased inductees may or may not have been famous during their lifetimes, but
their work is now considered to have enduring literary merit.
