The 21st annual Day of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The day begins at 1000 hrs with a light breakfast at the Aviation hangar located at Floyd Bennett Field. An air/sea rescue demonstration is scheduled to begin at 1115. The Memorial ceremonies will start at 1230. Sandwiches and salads will be served after the ceremony.*
Special Operations units will be on hand throughout the day with static displays by Emergency Service, Aviation, Harbor, SCUBA, Mounted and K9, demonstrating their equipment, vehicles, and capabilities.
The Special Operations Bureau's Memorial Plaque, designed by REMA and debuted in 2022, will be available for viewing and for creating a rubbing of a memorialized name.
A display of NYPD and ESU patches and memorabilia will be on display.
Volunteers are needed to help set up and to break down at the end of the day.
