Common Text Type: Chat Conversations
One of the new text types in the updated TOEIC reading exam are chat conversations or text message chains. These typically involve business situations where coworkers are requesting or confirming information about clients, procedures, schedules and other topics. Sometimes these texts involve social interactions among friends.

A common question type for this text asks about the intended meaning of an expression used in the chat.

-"What does ... mean when she writes ...?"
-"What does ... probably mean by ...?"

They are either idiomatic expressions or social expressions and you need to consider the context of the exchange to indicate the writer's intentions.
