WY-TOPP Science Rubric Validation, Content/Fairness, & Data Review Committee Application

The Wyoming Department of Education is conducting a Call for Wyoming Educators to review science assessment items with educators from other states that are part of our multi-state collaborative.

If you are interested in participating in this work, please complete this survey. You can identify the area(s) in which you are interested and available (please check your calendar).

There are three different multi-state, virtual review committees:

1. Rubric Validation (May-June)

2. Content and Fairness (June-July)

3. Data Review (August-September)

Rubric Validation virtual meetings will be held May 20-23 and June 3-6Participants will make recommendations regarding the scoring of science items and potential adjustments to  the rubrics. Select the dates and times you could be available. All applications submitted by 5:00 p.m. on April 26, 2024, will be considered for a rubric validation review committee, and we will provide your contact information to Cambium Assessment for these sessions.

Content and Fairness Review will be this summer (June/July—dates and times TBD). Participants will evaluate assessment items for content alignment and potential accessibility or bias issues. We are indicating your interest in these sessions, and Cambium will follow up with opportunities to sign up once the schedule is complete.

Data Review meetings are scheduled between August 23 and September 5 (excluding August 30 and September 2). Participants will review the assessment data and item content to identify any issues with the item. We are indicating your interest in these sessions, and Cambium will follow up with opportunities to sign up once the schedule is complete.

Review Committee Logistics

All meetings are facilitated by Cambium staff in a virtual (Zoom) platform and are estimated to be four hours in duration. They will focus on a batch of science items (stand alone and cluster items) for a particular grade band.

A quiet, place for solitary work with secure items and a computer with a camera are required. Participants will be required to be on camera for the meeting. Please follow professional meeting norms.

This survey is the initial recruitment, and Cambium will follow up with further details for the various review sessions after we've provided them with your summer contact information and expressed interest. Subsequent registrations (Content/Fairness and Data) will be on a first-come, first-served basis for those sessions.

A stipend will be provided for each virtual event completed after all three review windows have closed.
