Please fill out the following application for the Sankofa trip planned for October 19 - October 25. Applications will be open until September 1, 2022. You will be notified by Helen Powell whether you have been accepted (or not). Note: there is no guarantee you will be chosen for the trip, as we will need to consider gender, ethnicity, etc. in our pairing process.

The approximate cost is $700 per person, which includes transportation, accommodations, most meals, and entry to historical sites / museums. This cost may be reduced depending on the amount of grants/donations received. Scholarships are available.

Value Statement: We have come to the understanding that there are many definitions of the word racism. We would like to offer the definition we most commonly use in CORE: Race Prejudice + Misuse of Power, so we can at least agree during our time together that this is how we will understand the common use of the word racism. For this trip, we will be focusing on this from the perspective of African Americans.
