SUB Football Referee Application Form
Thank you for your interest in refereeing SUB Football.

Between November to March, SUB Football referees are required to referee 3 x 40 minute games per night between 6pm and 8pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights, at one of our venues:
- Auckland Domain (primary location, all nights)
- Seymour Park, Royal Oak (Tuesday and/or Thursday nights - Mens league)
- Waikaraka Park (Thursday nights)
Referees are to report to the venue by no later than 5.45pm, and are to assist with packdown after the final game (this usually takes no more than 15 minutes).

The summer season starts after Labour Weekend, has a 3-4 week break over Christmas and New Years, then runs through to the first week of March. Playing dates can be found on our website.

From March to October, SUB Football is played at Grammar Turf, Mt Eden on Tuesday nights. Game times are later than in summer with games at 7.50pm, 8.30pm & 9.10pm. Some assistance with field setup is required from expected referee arrival at 7.30pm. Packdown at the end of the night is short and requires collection of markers, lines, bibs and match ball, and directing players where to carry the gear.

Required:
- Enthusiasm for football
- Availability at least one regular evening per week.
- A reasonable level of fitness.
- Age greater than 16

Preferred but not essential:
- Familiarity with the rules of SUB Football, either as a player, spectator, or previous referee.
- Previous refereeing experience.
- Availability at least 2 nights per week.
- Age greater than 18

After application, you may be invited for an interview, either in person or by phone. You may be asked for a reference.
All applicants successful in their interview must complete an online test to demonstrate their understanding of the rules.

All applicants must then attend a pre-season training session - details for this will be advised.

New referees will then undergo a field test to demonstrate their ability.

Employment is not guaranteed until the applicant has completed this process.

Training rate remuneration is $20 per game with a usual expectation of three games per night, and employment is on a contractual basis, meaning that, if successful in your application, you must invoice SUB Football Ltd for your work, and you are responsible for paying your own taxes.

Please fill in our online application form, and we will be in touch.
