AHJS Orchestra 2023-2024 In-School Private Lesson Interest
Hello Orchestra Families!

We are excited to provide an opportunity for students to take a weekly private lesson during the school day to help enhance their musical journey. We currently searching for private teachers to come on campus and cannot guarantee your child will be accommodated, but gathering interest helps us plan our possibilities.

Students have the opportunity to sign up for a private lesson during their orchestra class for 20 minutes. Students are responsible for making up any assignments/test they might miss during that time. If a student is more advanced and/or there is no conflict within the class period we can try to accommodate longer lessons. We do ask that more advanced students looking for longer lessons consider finding a teacher outside of the school day for most benefit, but if we have the extra time slot we can let you know. A list of great teachers can be found on our website here: https://ahjsstrings.weebly.com/uploads/1/3/8/7/138762483/private_lesson_referrals.pdf

Our teachers charge at a rate their own studio rates and are independent of the school district. Payment is given directly to the teacher according to their personal studio policy. Some will require monthly payment at first lesson of the month. Each teacher will reach out to you if your student gets assigned a lesson spot.

We would like to extend this offer first for students who have never taken private lessons before on a first come first serve basis. Space is limited and we cannot guarantee a spot for everyone. Thank you for your understanding.

Anything else you would like to share with us?
I understand that these private teachers are not hired by AHISD and that my family is responsible for following their personal studio policies and timely payment. I understand that teachers have the right to dismiss a student from lessons. *
