natHACKS 2021 Hardware Application
Any brain-computer interface project relies on brain data as an input to create some tangible output based on that data. Knowing that, natHACKS is thrilled to offer BCI hardware to our participants! All hardware kits available contain commercial electroencephalograms (EEG), which gather information on a user's brain waves.

Participants will pay a deposit to NeurAlbertaTech to rent the hardware, which will be refunded upon its safe return. Deposit costs may be waived or greatly reduced for those in financial need, which can be indicated on this form. NeurAlbertaTech will also pay for shipping costs in both directions.

BCI hardware is NOT required to succeed at the event, as simulated brain data will also be provided. But, devices can be useful to gather more personalized brain data, and are just cool to use!

Targeted workshops on how to use the hardware will also be provided before natHACKS, meaning anyone who doesn't know how to use the hardware will be well-equipped for the event.

Note that hardware applications are competitive. Devices will be provided to teams solely at the discretion of the natHACKS Board of Directors, who will adjudicate applications based on the quality of the answers in this section.
