Join the Emporia Main Street Hype Hounds

The Emporia Main Street HYPE Team is composed of community members who share a passion for the progress happening in Emporia and the Region and have a desire to promote it. HYPE Team members serve as ambassadors during large events held in downtown Emporia. HYPE Team members work as a united front to welcome visitors downtown and answer questions visitors may have.

This year we are offering an extension to our HYPE program with HYPE Hounds. This team will be comprised of dog owners who take their pets out into the community and showcase events and activities with their pets.

HYPE Hound owners will be asked to post monthly (or more) on a social media account highlighting their dog out in the community. This can be simple walking downtown, at a pet friendly business, or at an outdoor community event.

HYPE Hounds must be friendly. We understand that some dogs do better at home and not surrounded by strangers. If your pet is aggressive or doesn't do well out in public, this program isn't a good fit for them. (we still love all the dogs, we just want to make sure all dogs and humans are in safe spaces).

HYPE Hounds must be on a leash at public events and while walking downtown. Please do not photograph your dog at an event or while downtown without a leash. Lots can happen and we don't need any lost dogs or traffic accidents! Please make sure your dog is up to date on all vaccinations.

HYPE Hounds should only visit businesses that are pet friendly. Please do not take your dog into a business that does not allow pets. We don't want our Hounds to get a bad rap!
