6th ACGMUN - Independent Delegation (Form I)

Dear Delegate,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the in-person 6th annual session of the American College of Greece Model United Nations (ACGMUN) Conference, hosted by Pierce-ACG on Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd, 2023.  We are excited and pleased to announce this year’s theme:

Breaking Barriers

It is indisputable that boundaries are formed in the United Nations’ attempts to achieve better living standards, equity and other aspirations included within the 2030 set agenda of goals. Therefore, in hopes to stress the critical state of such blockages, the theme of the 6th ACGMUN is set as “Breaking Barriers”, with issues being raised that range from environmental, geographic, economic, social barriers to many more!

ACGMUN is a two-day conference conducted in English and open to secondary school students (ages 14-18). Our conference serves as a simulation of the United Nations and provides students the opportunity to speak on issues of importance in the volatile and troubling world we live in. Through participation in the conference, delegates increase their knowledge of diplomacy, develop critical analysis, practice public speaking and negotiation, and develop friendships beyond their community.  The conference will have five General Assembly Committees (Disarmament and International Security, Economic and Financial, Social and Humanitarian, Special Political and Decolonization, and Legal), and six Specialized Committees, including the Security Council, Historical Security Council, Special Conference on Breaking Barriers, Economic & Social Council, the World Health Organization, the Environmental Commission, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the International Court of Justice.

Please note these important deadlines concerning your application:

·      Independent Delegations: Sunday, January 29, 2023 (extended to Sunday, February 5, 2023)

·      Payment Due Date: Sunday, March 12, 2023

The Agenda and the Country List has been posted on our conference website: www.acgmun.gr under “Conference 2023.” For more information, contact us at info@acgmun.gr.

When it comes to the fees for the 6th ACGMUN, more information will be sent via email to the registered delegates in due course. Upon submitting this form, you will receive their country allocation & fee information through the Form II.

We look forward to hosting you live at our conference and we assure you that ACGMUN 2023 will provide two days of challenging and fruitful debate within an enriching Model United Nations experience for all students involved.  We are especially pleased that our conference is held in Athens, Greece not only a lively modern city but also a city well attuned to its ancient past as the birthplace of democracy.

On behalf of Pierce-ACG we send our wishes for a great academic year and we look forward to seeing you at our conference!

Best Regards,

The 6th ACGMUN Organising Team
