This is a survey of employment compensation for software and other technology professionals in and around Rochester, NY.  This kind of information can be valuable to both technology professionals and employers, as it helps facilitate an efficient labor market in the area.  While there are many different factors that go into how employment compensation is determined, information on common practice in the area helps both groups know what to expect in making employment and hiring decisions.

The data and analysis from last year's survey can be found at https://rocdev-foundation.github.io/annual-compensation-survey/.  Once the analysis of this year's data is complete, it will be published there as well, and announced on the #general channel of the RocDev Slack.  We hope that you will find the information useful!

This survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, with questions covering (1) basic demographics, (2) various aspects of current and past employment, such as job titles and roles, salary and other benefits, etc..., and (3) for this year, how our industry has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Participation in this survey, as well as the individual questions themselves, are entirely voluntary.  Last year, there were approximately 80 responses.  Please be aware that, in a sample this size, it may be possible to identify participants based on demographic (or other) information.  While we can't make any hard guarantees of confidentiality, we'll do our best to keep the data limited to what's necessary to do the analysis.
