River Region Grant/Sponsorship Program Policies

Texas Hill Country River Region is proud to announce the 2023 Uvalde County River Region Beautification Grant to support cleanup, restoration, and educational projects that strive to improve the environment in the Hill Country.

The Uvalde County River Region Beautification Grant will provide selected affiliate communities with funding for trash cleanup, general clean up, restoration and educational projects that impact and improve natural resources. In addition to financial support, THCRR will support affiliate communities by providing trash bags, grabbers, and yellow bags. Communities must have a plan in place to ensure their projects are safe and follow state and local COVID-19 guidelines. Applicants and participants/volunteers must be 14+ years of age.


Grant Fund Requirements

Funds must be used to support beautification, education, restoration, and cleanup projects that impact Texas rivers or water quality.


Grant Amount

The grant award of $250-1000 will be awarded to affiliates selected by the Executive Director. Grants in excess of $1000 will be considered by the Board of Directors.


Limitations

Projects must be within Uvalde County and cannot exceed annual budgeted amount.


Coronavirus Precautions

Winning organizations must agree to follow all state and local regulations regarding COVID-19 and submit a safety plan for the project.


Criteria

Only fully completed applications submitted by eligible parties will be considered
Applicant and participants/volunteers must be 14+ years of age
Other sources of funding may be used to complete the project; however, project must be completed
Applicants must agree to submit a wrap-up report by the deadline noted (see “Timeline” section)
Use of social media and pictures (2 posts minimum) to promote grant activities is required; grant recipient should use the handles below:

All photos and videos should be emailed to Erica@visituvaldecounty.com by the wrap-up report deadline
Applicant must consent to the use of the content provided to and for THCRR, to use in the future as THCRR sees fit, giving credit to the content creator when doing so
Request for funding must be made at least 45 days prior to the event, and before printing of marketing materials (to be approved by THCRR) that could include sponsor logo.
Recognition of THCRR must be included on all printed material and the organization’s website and referred to in public relations activities.


Evaluation Process

Recipients will be selected by the Executive Director and/or  Board of Directors. Source of funding will depend on the scope and nature of the request and will be determined by the Executive Director. Approval for this grant is based on need, scope of project, and sustainability of the project over time.


Timeline

Once an application is received, the board of directors will have 4 weeks to evaluate the proposed project.
Recipients of grant funds will be notified via email once the decision has been made.
Check will be mailed within 2 week of notifying the winning recipient.
Final wrap-up report with all photos and videos must be submitted within one week following the event.


Please note: By accepting funds for their project, grant applicants consent to completing the final report on time. Failure to submit a complete wrap-up report will result in disqualification for support and loss of future grant participation.
