Application for an AFT 2121 Bargaining Team Nomination Petition Form
If you would like the Delegate Assembly to vote on whether to make you a member of the AFT 2121 bargaining team please fill out this application form. Once you have completed this form you will be sent a link for a nomination petition form for you to give out to your fellow AFT 2121 members and collect a minimum of 20 virtual "signatures."

To uphold our goals of democratic engagement and greater membership participation we elect our Bargaining Team members at a vote of the Delegate Assembly. Our union needs a bargaining team that represents the many facets of our bargaining unit – credit, non-credit, part-time, full-time, counselors, librarians, and instructors. Bargaining team members are not just important as individuals, they represent 1500 colleagues. Team members will need to be able to work well with others under stressful conditions, communicate effectively, organize their coworkers to take action, and engage in creative problem solving.

AFT 2121 Bargaining Teams are assembled during each cycle of contract negotiations between our Union and the CCSF District. The Bargaining Team is made up of:

Maximum of 21 members plus chief negotiator, Alayna Fredricks, AFT 2121 Executive Director

Up to 15 members elected by precinct reps
✓ Candidates need endorsement signatures of 20 AFT 2121 members in good standing. (Faculty who are not currently members may become members and endorse if they submit completed
membership form by the nomination deadline.)
✓ Delegate Assembly elects the team.
✓ Each delegate may vote for up to 15 nominees.
✓ Of candidates receiving 50% + 1 votes, the top 15 will be seated.

Additional members may be appointed by the AFT President
✓ Appointees intended to round out team’s skills or constituencies represented.
✓ Appointees must be approved by majority of the AFT Executive Board.
No seats on the team are automatically reserved for AFT Executive Board.
Release time is available for negotiating sessions for Bargaining Team members (or up to 5 with mutual
agreement with District)

NOMINATION PETITON FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED BY FRIDAY,  DECEMBER 11, 2020

Only responses from union members are valid. Faculty can contact our union office (aft@aft2121.org) if they are unsure if they are members. As long as faculty who are not currently members turn in membership paperwork before the nominations deadline, their signature will be counted as valid.
